Art history is the study of art, keeping the historical aspects in mind. Some of the sub-divisions of this study are: its genre, design, outlook, format and the overall look. Above all, art history generally refers to the research work of the artists as well as their contribution at a social level. On the other hand, art historians benefit from the formal analysis of the whole thing, and at the same time make use of various studies like psychoanalysis and iconography etc. They also make use of primary sources and reproductions of artworks to take the research at a different level.
